I have found it challenging to be able to make delicious plates that I can eat and feel good about because of lupus.

As you may have heard, processed foods, sugar, gluten, dairy, soy, yeast, and alcohol may cause a flare.  Talk to your doctor about potential  trigger foods that may increase your inflammation. With lupus, each body responds in a different way.

My rule of thumb has been:

  • go for organic food and avoid process food as much as possible
  • don’t eat if I cannot understand the label ingredients ( even though, I do cheat sometimes … )
  • prioritize lean protein, high in Omega 3
